Ever since coup-de ta taken place at Perak, the FDI in the state had dropped 600% from RM2.4 billion in 2008 to RM399 million in 2009. The silver state sees a mediocre performance by approving only 47 projects throughout the whole year.
However, Zamry & Co still issued false and misleading statement that boasted Perak had attracted RM11.6 billion in 2009 which is clearly misleading and a total lie.
In view of the fact such misleading statement will affect the government’s integrity, Perak DAP demanded BN to issue an open apology to the rakyat of Perak.
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 21 – The DAP urged Datuk Seri Najib Razak today to stop his Umno party’s newspapers from playing the race card if he really wanted the Chinese community to give his administration a chance.
Lim Kit Siang also singled out Umno as the biggest enemy of the prime minister’s 1 Malaysia concept of inclusiveness.
“Najib should ask Umno media like Utusan Malaysia, Berita Harian and government television and radio channels to give him a chance to prove that he is Prime Minister for all Malaysians by ceasing to play the race and religion card.” said party stalwart Lim Kit Siang today.
He cited as an example what he claimed to be the mainstream media’s campaign to demonise Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng as anti-Malay.
The Penang CM and the DAP have been portrayed by some of Umno’s newspapers as being anti-Malay.
The state administration was alleged to have cancelled its official procession to mark Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. This was denied by Guan Eng.
The state’s local authorities have also been accused with targeting Malay traders for enforcement action despite statistics showing otherwise.
Lim said it was obvious the race card was being used by Umno newspapers against the DAP.
The Ipoh Timur MP was responding today to the prime minister’s appeal to the Chinese community in Malaysia to give the Barisan Nasional government a chance to prove itself, which he made at the national Chinese New Year celebrations at the Pandamaran New Village in Klang, last night.
Lim said Najib seemed oblivious to what was being done by Umno’s newspapers and media organisations.
He said the only conclusion that could be reached was that Najib was not serious or fully committed to 1 Malaysia otherwise he would not have allowed the Umno media to continue to exploit race and religion for political gains.
“It’s no exaggeration to say that the biggest enemies of Najib’s 1 Malaysia come from within Umno and Barisan National (BN).”
He pointed out that even leaders of BN component parties, such as MCA, Gerakan, MIC or the Sabah and Sarawak parties, do not have the political conviction or courage to tell Najib to stop the irresponsible politics of race and religion.
“If Najib cannot even ask the Umno-owned media to stop playing the race card, what positive answer can he get from his request to the Chinese community to give his government a chance to prove itself?”
Tahniah kpd Zamry krn beliau sekarang adalah MB Mahkamah dan akhirnya nafsu beliau utk kongkong kuasa kini dipuaskan sepenuhnya. Sedih & pahit kpd Rakyat Perak sebab hak rakyat dicabuli sekali lagi. Saya minta UMNO-BN tepuk dada, tanya iman, bertaubatlah sebelum terlewat.
IPOH, Jan 20 — The ousted Perak Pakatan Rakyat administration has rubbished claims made by the current Barisan Nasional government that they managed to pull in RM11.6bil in investments into the state over the past one year.
Former Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin alleged that the amount, presented yesterday in a press conference by senior state executive councillor Datuk Hamidah Osman, were just “fake figures.”
“We have the real ones with us.
“The total number of committed investments that the BN has managed to obtain is very minimal, to a point of being dismissible,” he said during a press conference at the launch of the Perak PR’s 15-day campaign to mark one year since they were ousted.
Nizar added that the BN government had merely jumped the gun by publicising the figures because he claimed most of the foreign investors had not yet made proper commitments with the state.
“During our time, on the other hand, the Auditor-General Report clearly showed proof that the PR government recorded a total of RM3.1bil in committed foreign direct investments (FDIs) .
“In the past 11 months under the BN, on the other hand, the FDIs have only reached something like RM400 million,” he claimed.Nizar said that this was because the PR government never believed in making public announcements of investments until and unless they were confirmed.
He also added that many of the investments announced by the BN had actually been initiated by the PR government.
On the RM8.5bil investment by a South American company dealing with iron ore hubbing and palletising, Nizar claim that the company had said it would only embark on its project once the PR government returned to power.
“They met with me and this was what I was told. So until and unless the PR comes into power, only then would they start negotiations,” he said.
In the press conference yesterday however, it was revealed that the company was planning to proceed with the multi-million ringgit project and had already appointed an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consultant.
Nizar however said that this did not mean that the company would definitely be allowed to proceed with its project.
“An EIA is no assurance that they would park themselves here so I think that it is really too much of them (the BN) to say that this is a concrete investment.
“A concrete investment is when it is solid and committed by all parties, approval is obtained from MIDA (Malaysian Industrial Development Authority) and in fact, when there is even a groundbreaking ceremony.
“This is why we have never made announcements on mere agreements or negotiations because sometimes, even such commitments can be cancelled.
“It is like an American approaching Hamidah on the street and telling her that he would like to invest RM20 billion in the state and she goes around announcing to everyone about this investment when all she knows is that this person is an American,” he said.
Former Perak senior executive councillor Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham agreed with Nizar and said that Hamidah’s announcement was premature and that at the very most, only Memoranda of Understanding had been signed between the state government.
On the RM8.5mil iron ore project, Ngeh said that the company had dealt several times with the PR government in the past and negotiations had merely progressed to discussions over land acquisition.
“Our contention was that no matter what, the project must never, in any way, be destructive to the environment. We were not willing to compromise on that because the location that they were planning on parking their project (Manjung) is a renowned tourist destination,” he said.
Ngeh also scoffed at the fact that the supposed investment had reached the EIA stage.
“Think about it, would a renowned international company pay hundreds of millions of ringgit when they are yet to even obtain an EIA approval? Would they claim they are committed?
“At the very most, they probably have a mere agreement that they would only embark on the project if and when the EIA is approved and this is not considered a concrete investment,” he said.
The use of ‘Allah’ in Bahasa Malaysia , was an attempt by Umno to divert the people’s attention from issues like stolen RMAF jet engines, increase in sugar price, withdrawal of subsidy for white bread and remove the commodity from the price-control scheme.
Taiping Member of Parliament Nga Kor Ming today called on the Home Minister, Dato Seri
Hishamuddin Bin Tun Hussein to look into a statutory rape case involving a 14 years old school girl who alleged to be raped by her school mates. Expressing his shock over the incident, Nga cited the news report by Sin Chew daily that according to the report, the underage juvenile was raped on or about 25/10/2009 by few of her school mates. The incidents took place at a karaoke centre after
the boys left some pills into a glass of drink which made her felt dizzy. She was semi unconscious while raped by the boys. After the incident, the victim lodged a complaint with the school headmaster but the later refused to deal with the case but decided to pass the matter to his deputy. To her dismay, the deputy headmaster also failed to address the case and stated sham excuse that
as the incident did not happen in the school, the school authority will not act upon such a complaint. Felt dejected, the victims lodged a police report on 26/10/2009 naming the suspects, however, until now no one had been arrested by the police despite that the alleged suspects can clearly be identified by the victim. It was traumatic to be noted by the victim, while she was experiencing
insurmountable pain over the unfortunate incidents, the alleged suspects were scout free and found to identify the next prey to satisfy their sex luste. Nga Kor Ming stated that as a Christian & Member of Parliament, it is incumbent upon him to speak out for the helpless and unfortunate one .He said that he believed the society with no justice and fairness is a hopeless society. The Law must be able to uphold justice and vindicate the victims otherwise the law will remain meaningless.
Nga also said that the greatest sins committed by a good man is when the evil commits evil, the good man chose to remain silent. Eventually when the good man found himself to be the victim, there is no one else to speak out for him. In order to assist the victim, Nga had decided to offer RM5,000 to anyone who can assist the police to settle the case and bring those responsible to the court of justice.
Nga, who is also DAP National Deputy Treasurer stressed that anyone having sexual intercourse
with the juvenile under the age of 16, commits statutory rape under section 376 of the Penal Code. Such a severe offence must be viewed seriously and in this particular case, as there is complaint against the police for failing to act to the expectation of the victim, it is timely this case be brought to the Minister’s attention immediately & trust that the Home Minister will address it with grave concern.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 — Taiping DAP MP Nga Kor Ming today slammed the Shah Alam cow-head protesters who categorised Malays and non-Malays as first and second class citizens respectively, saying their attitude smacked of “Jurassic”-era attitude.
The protesters had launched the tirade outside the district police headquarters here, after lodging a report against DAP’s M. Kulasegaran who said in Parliament last week that the concept of Malay supremacy ran contrary to the prime minister’s 1 Malaysia slogan.
Nga said that the protestors did not represent the Malays and were instead an insult to the community.
“According to The Malaysian Insider report, the cow-head protesters who were charged for sedition and illegal assembly stepped on Lim Kit Siang’s, (Lim) Guan Eng’s and my photos. To the best of my knowledge, these people do not represent the Malays,” the Perak DAP Youth chief said.
“The Malays are people who are well natured, peace-loving, friendly and smart. This group of people does not represent the Malays and they are not qualified to represent the Malays,” he told reporters during a press conference.
Nga added that the protesters’ mentality belong to the Jurassic era.
“These type of people, the mentality is still stagnant in the Jurassic era and I believe these are the people who should migrate to ‘Jurassic Park’ because Malaysia is such a beautiful country, just like our tourism’s slogan, Malaysia Truly Asia.
“To ask and to demand a member of parliament to surrender the citizenship only shows how shallow their mindset is. We hope the government, especially the AG’s chambers, will uphold justice and charge them for their act, which is uncalled for,” he said.
The leaders of the protesters revealed that 30 police reports would be lodged against Kulasegaran in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur today, and that they expect it to be a nation-wide exercise with the participation of other Malay groups.
On Saturday, members from Gagasan Melayu Perak (GMP) issued a memorandum warning the Ipoh Barat MP to stop questioning Malay supremacy and the New Economic Policy, to the DAP headquarters in Ipoh.
The Malay ultra nationalist group erected banners demanding Kulasegaran to return to his “homeland” and reminded Malays that the DAP would not uphold their rights.
However, Kulasegaran wants the police to investigate the incident in Ipoh.
“We want the police to investigate the matter in Ipoh first. In fact, they have called me, called my secretary and ask me to come and give a statement. My statement is in the Hansard, whatever I said is there.
“I think the bottom line is that. I have never questioned the rights and the privileges of the Malays or non-Malays because they are all stated in the federal constitution. Ketuanan Melayu (Malay supremacy) is not stated anywhere in the Federal Constitution. That must be clear. It is one of the concepts from Umno Putera,” Kulasegaran explained.
