IPOH: Perak Pakatan Rakyat has accused the Ipoh City Council of misusing public funds by employing 22 workers to remove the memorial plaque under the Democracy Tree.

State DAP chief Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham said the council spent RM580.40 just to remove the plaque, RM150 for the use of an excavator, RM18 for the driver and RM412.40 in overtime claims for 20 of its enforcement staff.

“Why do they need to employ so many people to remove a tiny plaque? Why did they waste public funds by removing the plaque on a Sunday and paying overtime claims?

“It only took four of us to erect the plaque. I don’t understand why it took so many of them to remove it,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.

Ngeh said Tebing Tinggi assemblyman Ong Boon Piow had come to know of the costs when he went to the council to retrieve the plaque and the five tree signposts that the council had taken on Monday.

“He was asked to pay a total of RM830.40 – RM580.40 for the removal costs and RM250 as a fine.

“How can we be made to pay a fine when we were never even issued a summons?”

莫哈末尼查的人氣相當旺

武吉干當國會補選選情愈來愈熾熱，各級人馬紛紛到訪選區拜票，掀起一陣陣的政治明星熱。

回教黨候選人拿督斯里莫哈末尼查的形象受落，他所到之處受到選民的迎迓，紛紛趨前與他握手，人氣相信旺。

安華仿如大明星

公正黨顧問拿督斯里安華在抵步各個演講場所時，也會吸引大批支持者趨前爭相和他握手，仿如大明星。

回教黨精神領袖聶阿茲則是回教黨支持者的敬重對象，他在支持者中受歡迎程度不必多言。行動黨方面，太平區國會議員倪可敏也是一些選民追捧的對象，不缺支持者。

國陣暫缺“明星效應”

國陣方面，由於國陣的論壇未正式開打，暫時缺乏“明星效應”。不過，巫統候選人依斯邁已積極到各地訪問選民，所到之處也受到人們的歡迎。

隨著巫統代表大會在週六（3月28日）下午結束後，巫統巨頭和部長級人馬將會陸續到訪選區，其中新出爐的署理主席丹斯里慕尤丁週六傍晚就會訪問武吉干當。

一批非政府組織成員，週六（3月28日）在清明節前夕到“民主之樹”公祭，同時在民主紀念碑原址設立“民主之墓”。

這批人也就地取材，用一塊硬化的洋灰作為墓碑，特設一個寫上“馬來西亞民主死亡”的紙製靈位，同時進行獻花和宣讀祭文。

大約30名非政府組織成員，是於週六上午10點聚集在霹靂州政府大廈附近的民主之樹，並分工合作清理民主之樹和5棵民主小樹附近的垃圾。

寫上“馬來西亞民主死亡”的紙製靈位，是由大馬興漢社一名會員帶來，以便放在“民主之墓”上；另一名出席者則帶來寫上“不准點燈，只許放火”的海報。

霹靂華社聯合會主席湯毅率領眾人宣讀祭文和高喊三聲“還吾河山”後，由他本身、興漢社會長岑啟銘和霹靂老友聯誼會理事李亞志，代表眾人向“民主之墓”獻花後，即完成了公祭，整個過程歷時15分鐘。

行動黨德賓丁宜區州議員黃文標、公正黨迪渣區州議員鄭立慷受邀出席。近打西區前縣議員陳鳳玲、公正黨社會關係局顧問郭緒益等也向出席者索取簽名，以示支持“解散州議會、還政予民”簽名運動。

霹雳州民主行动党即将在本星期日晚上7时半，怡保精武礼堂举办一场3月3日霹雳州紧急州议会录影全集DVD放映会，公众人士可以免费入场观赏片场1小时10分钟的全球历史性树下州议会。

霹雳州行动党德彬丁宜区州议员兼筹委会主席黄文标表示，当晚出席的观众如果想获得此DVD，只需当晚捐款10令吉或以上，就可以获得一片。

Organizing chairman YB.Ong Boon Piow (Tebing Tinggi SA) said anybody who donate RM10 or above will receive a copy of the DVD.

针对国阵霹雳州高級行政议員哈米達說国阵州政府將开啟锡矿业发展地。民主行动党霹雳州政治与教育局主任张志坚硕士今日表示采矿活动只可解燃眉之急，只可短期振兴州内的经济活动，然而锡米是有限的天然资源，加上国际锡价漂浮不定，难以长久维持州内的经济成长。

张志坚硕士说, 霹雳州政府应该积极主动开发更多的高科技工业园，同时，开发一些土地和吸引高素质的人力资源前来霹雳州研发新颍，高增值及新兴的科技，如生物科技和再生能源工业，并提供獎掖以吸引外国核心企业投资设厂，以在工业园区形成完整的”供应链”*。因为供应链可以为工业园周边地区提供大量工作机会和发展基础设施。

吉打州居林高科技园区也是一个成功的例子。州政府推动高增值工业，居林高科技工业园被选为制造精细的半导体晶片的基地。科技园提供了近万个就业机会，其中35％是受过高深教育和技术上能胜任的专业人士。同时科技园内也催生了许多中小型企业及供应商发展计划。

行動黨週五（3月27日）晚上在太平舉辦“還政於民”晚宴，熱門的話題是：尼查是未來的首相人選？

多位行動黨領袖在這項晚宴發表演說，都認為回教黨武吉干當國會議席補選候選人拿督斯里尼查是未來的首相。

指新神話是“Anwar”

太平區國會議員倪可敏表示，巫統的“Rahman”

神話已結束，新的神話並非“Mahathir”而是“Anwar”。如果屬於後者，安華“A”將是民聯的首任首相，緊接瑀的“N”就是尼查。

他說，民聯尤其是回教黨已越趨開明，因此這新神話非常有可能發生。

他說，行動黨選擇在太平順利酒家推出補選的第一炮，是象徵著候選人“順順利利”和大吉大利，馬到功成。

行動黨霹州主席拿督倪可漢表示，武吉干當國會選區的P59另具意義，因為59象徵著霹州59個州議席，即全霹靂州之戰。

林吉祥：不會出現“Mahathir”接班人

行動黨顧問林吉祥指出，巫統的神話將不會出現“Mahathir”首相接班人，因為慕尤汀、阿末扎希及希山慕丁，都不是適當的人選。

“在308大選過後，民主之征已展開，人們不要再走回頭路，因此希望選民通過智慧選出開明的候選人，使國家朝向兩線制發展。”

相繼發表演說人士有莫哈末尼查、霹靂州議會議長西華古瑪、州議員西華尼申、姚天和及余兆佳等。

民聯市議員指市議會不召開會議，前排左起為劉長一、西納班、許榮聯及駱德興。

（霹靂‧太平）太平民聯市議員指太平市議會受到上層壓力，不召開常月會議而導致人民的權益受損。

11位來自行動黨、公正黨及非政府組織的太平市議員，在一項新聞發佈會上表示，他們自2月4日宣誓為市議員，任期一年，但目前面對種種阻礙，包括無法召開常月會議。

太平人民權益受損

他們指市議會官員告知，因上層發下通知不得召開會議，結果導致太平人民的權益受損。

他們也反駁霹靂州行政議員馬漢順要太平民聯市議員呈辭的談話，並指後者已承認市議員的合法地位，但其本身的行政議員身份仍有待法庭鑒定，這是非常可笑的事。

他們表示一旦霹靂州政權是在合法選舉方式，或通過州議會表決之下更換，他們將不會眷戀官位。

“反之，我們將不會背棄太平人民的寄望和利益，不會自動辭去市議員一職，並盡力為太平市民服務。”

他們也表示，基於現今政府延用許多民聯的良好政策，包括開放30%市議員職位予非政府組織成員申請，這證明民聯政府在掌政期間有突出表現，惟不明白為何這些良好政策不被推至其他州屬。
